Yes I Rise

As a young teenager traveled all the way to Russia to study in the coldest part of the world and I rise
Facing professors who were very racist in the former Soviet Union, Yes I Rise
Having to face all kind of humiliations and name calling in the former Soviet Union and Yes I Rise.
Having to be in an examination hall during Christmas day in the former USSR, Yes I Rise
Having been told by a Professor that I would not be able to complete Higher Education because the Education is not for zoo animals, Yes I Rise.
Having been asked, how comes you are so smart when Africans leaves on trees, Yes I Rise.
Having been deserted by the fellow Russian students because I am the only black man in their mist, Yes I Rise.
Having been called monkeys and all sorts of derogatory names in the former Soviet Union, Yes I Rise.

Yes I Rise, despite the harsh whether of former Soviet Union.

Yes I Rise, Due to my determination and perseverance.

Above all, Yes I Rise, because the Lord God is with me in all things I do.

Born into Polygamous Life...

Written by: Dr. Joseph Ozigis Akomodi, Ph.D.

Born into Polygamous Life…

Born into polygamous life, was so distressful, struggling to breath each day of my life.

Born into polygamous life, your step Moms, reading your stars to see what you will become in life.

Born into polygamous life, was full of hatred, envy, sickness, jealousy, and deaths.

Born into polygamous life, you see witches, wizards and human slaughtered.

Born into polygamous life, was a dreadful experience for a child to leave with.

Born into polygamous life, you are at the mercy of your step mothers, step sisters and step brothers.

Born into polygamous life, you have and ultimate price to pay, usually with your life.

Born into polygamous life, you are often seen as a scarification lamb waiting to be slaughter by the witches and wizards.

Born into polygamous life, was a survival of the fittest.

Born into polygamous life, you are faced with poverty, malnutrition and hunger.

Born into polygamous life, you are faced with abuse, rape, sodomy and injury.

Born into polygamous life, going to sleep was difficult as you are not sure whether you will wake up in the morning.

Born into polygamous life, you become slave to someone else, as your parents cannot afford to feed you.

Born into polygamous life, you are often sold as a source of income to the family.

Born into polygamous life, you are faced with arranged marriages that are not of your choice.

Born into polygamous life, often your mother is hit with divorce and the child is left to suffer in the hands of the step mothers.

Born into polygamous life, if you knew you will have asked God to take your life as soon as you were born.

Born into polygamous life, those who survived were left with the scar for ever.
Born into polygamous life, was an experience one will never forget.

Born into polygamous life, those who seek God and found favor in him leave to tell their stories.

Born into polygamous life, you cannot survive without the Supreme intervention of God.

Born into polygamous life, I thanked God with his intervention I survived.

Born into polygamous life, was a bad experience that never had a happy ending, except with Gods’ intervention.

Born into polygamous life, one will wish not to be born than been born.

Born into polygamous life, to the readers, you will feel what I felt if you are one of those who have similar experience. To those who do not know what it is, count your self lucky. It is the worst human abuse in life.

Born into ploygamous life, one will wish that the practice of polygamous and the word polygamy never exist.

Oh Father!...Like....

By: Dr. Joseph Ozigis Akomodi

Oh father! Why do you have to part from us so quickly?
Like an atomic bomb dropped on the planet.

Oh father! We feel your spirit everyday.
Like it was yesterday you left us.

Oh father! I missed all the things we shared together.
Like it is an everlasting bond.

Oh father! When I encountered difficulties.
Like you stood by my side and see me through.

Oh father! When I cried.
Like you wipe my tears.

Oh father! In my darkest moment.
Like you are there to rescue me.

Oh father! When I think there is no way out.
Like you appeared and show me the way.

Oh father! When I am depressed.
Like you reappeared to comfort me.

Oh father! When nothing works.
Like an angel you make things work.

Oh father! When I am oppressed.
Like you stood by me and cast out the oppression.

Oh father! When I am sleeping.
Like an angel who took my soul away.

Oh father! When there is no food in the house.
Like a miracle the next day you provide food.

Oh father! When we have no clothes to wear.
Like a living father you provide us new clothes.

Oh father! When I have difficulties in my studies.
Like you showed me the easier way to solve the problem.

Oh father! When I graduated from High School.
Like you attended my graduation.

Oh father! When I moved on to Univeristy.
Like you followed me to Russia and seat by my side.

Oh father! When I have difficulties to learn Russian language.
Like you commforted me and you made Russain language easy for me to learn.

Oh father! When I defended my thesis.
Like you are there with me.

Oh father! When I applied for united States Visa.
Like you went with me and approved the visa.

Oh father! every where I go.
Like you are there with me.

Oh father! You are not really dead.
Like your soul liveth forever and ever.....

Love Dad.
